MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police confirmed on Monday, June 16 that a 59-year-old man has been arrested with regards to the vandalism at the Temple Menorah building on Sunday, June 15.

Police say the suspect "intentionally broke several windows and a statue."

Criminal charges are being referred to the Milwaukee County district Attorney's Office.


MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Jewish Federation said someone vandalized the Temple Menorah building in the Northridge neighborhood on Sunday, June 15.

In a post on Facebook, the Jewish Federation said law enforcement quickly apprehended the perpetrator, and it was an isolated incident.


CBS 58 crews were on scene of the aftermath of the damage.

CBS 58 spoke to the Rabbi at the Temple Menorah. 

He tells us the damage is extensive, with windows, and doors broken and "nasty notes" left behind.

We're also told their Israel flag has been stolen and signs supporting Israel torn up.

"We feel very isolated, and I hope people realize that we have an awful situation against our people." Rabbi Gil-Ezer Lerer said.

The Milwaukee Jewish Federation said they believe there is no additional threat to the community.
