Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon returns Oct. 1 with brand new course

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon returns on Oct. 1, 2023 with a brand new course offering scenic views of the city's skyline. 

In 2022, the event was canceled due to permit issues with the city. 

This year, according to their website, runners will race through downtown Milwaukee, closed highways, and paved trails in an effort to showcase Milwaukee. 

The Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon begins with the half marathon at 7 a.m., a youth run (1.2 miles) at 7:15 a.m., and a 5K at 7:30 a.m.
