Milwaukee launches 'rolling' night parking permits with monthly, weekly and daily options

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The city of Milwaukee announced a major development Thursday in its night parking permit program.

Customers will now have the option to purchase monthly, weekly or daily permits rather than annual or four-month permits with set end dates.

The new "rolling permits" will allow customers more flexibility than the previous program allowed.

For example, the city says a person purchasing an annual permit will now have the option to renew 365 days from the date or purchase rather than expiring at the end of the current year.

Monthly permits will be available for $10, weekly for $5 and daily for $1, in addition to the current four-month and annual permits that remain as options.

You can purchase a permit online at milwaukee.gov/parkingpermits or in person at Milwaukee Police District Stations and Milwaukee Violations Bureau locations. Kiosks are also available in the City Hall rotunda building and at the Zeidler Municipal Building.

The city says in addition, push notifications will be sent via email to let customers know when their permit is about to expire.
