Milwaukee leaders pay respects at Alderman Joe Dudzik's funeral
A steady stream of cars flowed in and out of the St Matthias parking lot on Wednesday morning, according to CBS 58's Lane Kimble.
Hundreds of people have already come through for Alderman Joe Dudzik's visitation.
The service is occurring five days after the Milwaukee Alderman crashed his motorcycle into construction barriers while riding near 76th and Morgan.
Medical Examiner reports tell CBS 58, Dudzik was not wearing a helmet.
He, also, had a blood alcohol level of .137.
But today is about remembering the man who friends tell CBS 58 he was always ready to help. It, also, is a day his family, who are asking for privacy, say goodbye.
Milwaukee leaders are expected to be at the funeral at 1pm.
Alderman Joe Dudzik's 11th District office will continue to be staffed by the legislative assistant and other Common Council – City Clerk office staff during the transition due to his passing.
Council President Murphy has the authority to schedule a special election for the 11th District seat.
