Milwaukee man accused of punching MCTS driver

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A 24-year-old Milwaukee man is accused of punching a Milwaukee County Transit System bus driver.

The complaint says, Tayveon Sykes did not pay fare when he got onto a MCTS bus on Sept. 23 and was uttering profanities while walking to the rear of the bus.

As the bus was traveling near 29th and Greenfield, officials say Sykes walked back up toward the front of the bus, leaned past the safety glass surrounding the driver, and punched them twice.

The driver, according to the complaint, stopped the bus abruptly to knock Sykes away from him and then opened the door.

Sykes then got off the bus.

Sykes allegedly told investigators he struck the driver because he was "extremely agitated."
