Forty-five-year-old Adam Threlkeld is accused of killing 33-year-old Antero Medina, known to his loved ones as "Casper," on Sept. 20.

Along with first degree intentional homicide, Threlkeld is charged with multiple counts of attempted homicide and recklessly endangering safety. 

Investigators say witnesses told police Threlkeld approached Medina several times in the bar Shenanigans, and Medina did what he could to keep things from escalating. 

Prosecutors say video shows Threlkeld pull out a gun and shoot Medina in the chest. 

After leaving the bar, police say Threlkeld fired at a responding officer. Two officers returned fire, according to Kenosha police, hitting Threlkeld. 

Court records show he's still in the hospital and is scheduled to be in court Oct. 2.

The police-involved shooting is being independently investigated by the Kenosha Racine Area Investigative Team, with the Racine County Sheriff's Office as the lead agency, per standard protocol.
