MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A 31-year-old Milwaukee man faces several charges for a brutal robbery incident from last month. 

Surveillance video from the Purple Haze Smoke Shop on Farwell Avenue near Brady Street shows two suspects coming in, tossing a tip jar at the owner, and kicking him several times before trying to steal the cash register. 

Alexander Lewis Jr. is now charged with substantial battery, battery to an elder person, and three counts of armed robbery, according to court records.

He made his first court appearance this past Saturday, Dec. 13, and cash bond was set at $30,000.

Lewis is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Dec. 19.
