Milwaukee man charged in fatal shooting of 59-year-old during fight on 40th Street
Wisconsin Court System MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Terrell Rimmer, 49, has been charged with first-degree reckless homicide and possession of a firearm by a felon in connection with the May 28 shooting death of 59-year-old Chester Fisher near 40th and Burleigh in Milwaukee, according to a recently filed criminal complaint.
Fisher, also identified in court records under the name Charles L. Davis, was shot three times in the chest while attempting to break up a fight, according to witnesses cited in the complaint. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:13 p.m.
A .22 caliber gun found near a home on N. 35th, where Rimmer was arrested shortly after the shooting, was determined through forensic examination to have fired the three casings found at the scene, the complaint states. Officers reported seeing Rimmer discard what appeared to be a gun as they approached.
Witnesses described seeing a man exit a red SUV, approach Fisher during the fight, warn him to stay out of it and then fire three shots when Fisher declined to step back, according to the complaint. One witness identified Rimmer in a photo array as the shooter.
Rimmer's preliminary appearance before a judge is scheduled for Tuesday, June 9.
