On May 5, 23-year-old Jayden Johnson made his first court appearance.

Officials said the attack happened on April 19 at the woman's home near 50th and Burleigh on the city's northwest side.

According to court documents, the 80-year-old woman and her 81-year-old husband were getting ready to sit down, eat dinner and watch television.

That's when investigators said Johnson broke in and attacked the husband by hitting him in the head with a gun multiple times, before sexually assaulting the woman, and then stealing hundreds of dollars in cash.

Court documents said Johnson was upset about the amount of money and told the couple he and a "buddy" had been watching them before the attack and knew they had more.

During his court appearance, officials called the allegations "incredibly terrifying."

Johnson turned himself into police about a week after the attack.

His bail was set at $100,000 and his next court appearance is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on May 14.
