MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee man is now charged in a shooting case after investigators says his own rap lyrics helped crack the case. 

Johnny Ford is accused of shooting a woman near 76th and Green Tree back in 2021.

She survived that shooting.

The case had already been dismissed when a key witness didn't show up for trial. 

But prosecutors say police found a notebook with rap lyrics describing the case during a recent search of Ford's home, along with guns and drugs.

Ford now faces several charges, including attempted first-degree intentional homicide.
