Milwaukee climber reaches his professional summit
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Some prominent local and state Democrats are pledging their support for President Biden as the Democratic nominee.
The office of Congresswoman Gwen Moore declined an interview Wednesday, but sent a statement saying, "I will continue to support President Biden's reelection bid. President Biden is an amazing president who delivered America from a deadly pandemic and a devastating economic recession," ending her statement with, "I'm riding with Biden."
Meanwhile Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson joined other Democratic mayors from around the country Tuesday night in a call with President Biden.
We asked Johnson about that call during Wednesday's press conference on crime numbers.
"It was a great conversation. Upbeat conversation with the president. He did address head-on his debate performance from about a week ago. He acknowledged that it was absolutely not his best performance," Mayor Johnson said.
We have made multiple interview requests with Wisconsin's other House Democrat, Mark Pocan, but he has not been available.
Senator Tammy Baldin told reporters she backs whoever is on the Democratic ticket, adding she's heard concerns from voters about Biden and shared them with the White House.
