MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A 57-year-old Milwaukee man succumbed to his injuries after being struck in a hit-and-run accident in Milwaukee two weeks prior to his death.

Reportedly struck near the intersection of 55th Street and Fond du Lac, David A. Green was found disoriented and transferred to Froedtert Hospital by the Milwaukee Fire Department on Friday, July 7.

Law enforcement officials reported Green had passed away at Froedtert Hospital at 11:48 a.m. on Sunday, July 23.

Witnesses reported to officials that a white Ford F-150 truck, moving eastbound on Fond du Lac, turned onto 56th Street and struck Green, who was crossing the street at a crosswalk. He was then reportedly dragged for an undetermined period of time before his body came free from the truck.

The truck allegedly fled, leaving Green on the scene.
