MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Police Department (MPD) has launched a new transparency portal giving the public greater insight into the department's use of Flock technology, which is an Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) tool. 

The transparency portal, per MPD, provides the public with real-time insights into MPD's Flock ALPR network. 

The dashboard is designed to address common questions MPD has received and provide the public greater visibility into the use of the technology. 

The news comes after Racine and Fond du Lac counties opted to end their use of Flock cameras, effective immediately.
