'He didn't deserve to die like this': 29-year-old man shot and killed near Teutonia and Roosevelt
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police are investigating a reported homicide that resulted in the death of a 29-year-old Milwaukee man near Teutonia and Roosevelt.
Family identified the victim to CBS 58 as Isaiah Allen.
Officials say the victim sustained a fatal gunshot injury at approximately 6:20 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 16.
Allen's mother, Natalie Easter, called her son a loving dad and a good person who struggled with mental health challenges.
"I really loved my son and his life shouldn't have ended like this," Easter said. "I'm not saying my son was perfect, but he didn't deserve to die like this."
Allen was shot on the property of the Clark Gas Station located at the corner of Teutonia and Roosevelt. A man who tells CBS 58 he has worked at the gas station says it's been known to be a troublesome spot.
"I'm not surprised at what happened here," William Parchman said. "I see a lot of guys come in here with guns on the usual, on the daily. People stealing out of here, so, this was bound to happen."
He says Allen never gave him trouble.
"He was not a problem causer. He was just a guy who, as they said, had mental problems, and he came in front of the store and I tried to be as nice as I can to him," Parchman said. "It hurt my heart. It hurt my heart. It's sad because I knew the guy, I seen the guy. It hurt me because he was a good dude."
CBS 58 reached out to the Clark station for comment and was denied.
The circumstances leading to the shooting are under investigation, and police are seeking a known suspect.
