Milwaukee Public Schools will lose more than $49M in state aid due to financial reporting error

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- We're learning the Milwaukee Public School District's massive financial scandal will cost them more than $49 million in state aid this year.

That's about $7 million more than previous estimates.

These losses are meant to compensate for overpayments the district received last year after submitting incorrect financial data to the state.

As of Tuesday night, it's still not clear how MPS will adjust.
