Milwaukee shooting near Edison and Juneau under investigation

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Police Department is investigating a shooting that took place early Thursday, April 13. It reportedly occurred around 3 a.m. near the intersection of Edison and Juneau.

A 33-year-old Milwaukee man was involved in the shooting and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. According to MPD, he is expected to survive the injuries he sustained.

Police say it's related to a crash that occurred around 1:32 a.m. near N. MLK Drive and W. Center Street. Officials say a vehicle disregarded a red light and collided with a second vehicle, causing the second vehicle to flip over. The striking vehicle then fled the scene. 

Authorities say the occupants of the second vehicle sustained non-fatal injuries.
