Milwaukee Water Works releases annual water quality report for 2024

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Water Works has released its 2024 Annual Water Quality Report, outlining testing results and treatment processes for the city’s drinking water. The report, published annually in accordance with federal and state regulations, was released on Wednesday, April 23.
According to the report, more than 30,000 tests were conducted, covering over 500 substances. Milwaukee remained in full compliance with the Lead and Copper Rule, recording a 90th percentile lead level of 5.3 parts per billion, below the federal action level.
Seven PFAS compounds were detected but remained far below both existing and pending regulatory thresholds.
The report also details Milwaukee’s multi-step filtration process, including turbidity monitoring. The highest recorded turbidity level was 0.12 NTU, which falls within acceptable limits.
