MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee's Adopt-A-Neighborhood program launched for a third year Monday, July 6, at a playground at 55th and Wright in the Uptown neighborhood.
The 12-week program pairs city departments with businesses, neighborhood organizations and residents to address local concerns.
"Together we'll work alongside residents to address neighborhood concerns, improve housing conditions, enhance public spaces, strengthen public safety and build relationships that continue long after this initiative concludes," said Mayor Cavalier Johnson.
Organizers say a key goal is closer contact between City Hall and residents, allowing officials to hear concerns and ideas directly from the people affected by city government.
