MLB says 'bad actors' played hand in data breaches on MLB Ballpark App

CBS 58

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — As tickets for the Milwaukee Brewers' 2025 postseason go on sale on Sept. 23, fans may want to change their MLB Ballpark passwords ahead of buying.

The MLB acknowledges in a statement that there has been "widespread reports of significant data breaches" from "bad actors." The breaches appear to be from stolen or leaked login credentials from other websites, then used to access the Ballpark App. MLB went on to say that "there is no evidence that this was a breach of the MLB system."

It's recommended that fans reset their passwords to a new and unique password that isn't being used anywhere else, as a way to protect tickets and your account. It's unclear at this time how many people were impacted.

Individual tickets for the first round of the 2025 postseason at American Family Field went on sale on Tuesday, Sept. 23, at 10 a.m.

The Brewers are making their seventh postseason appearance in the past eight years and 11th overall in franchise history. Game dates and opponents will be finalized once the regular season standings and seeding are set.
