Mobile food pantries to address summer food insecurity in SE Wisconsin 🍲

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A new local initiative is aiming to ensure vital meals will be accessible throughout Southeast Wisconsin.

Phoenix Investors, a commercial real estate firm, have announced a partnership with Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin to sponsor mobile food pantries throughout the area. The initiative aims to tackle the increased food insecurity during summer when school meals, a significant source of nutrition for many children, are unavailable.

The firm's Chairman and Founder, Frank Crivello, expressed honor in a press release.

"We're honored to help our communities by making food readily available, especially for children who rely on lunches provided at school," he said.

Phoenix's donation will fund the operation of mobile pantries in Racine, Waukesha, Ozaukee and Dodge counties. Specific locations will be: Watertown High School in Watertown, Champion Field Park in Oconomowoc, Washington Park High School in Racine and Threshold Inc. in West Bend.

Each location is expected to distribute food boxes to the community at least once per week. Details on the timing of the food pantry distributions can be found by clicking here.
