Early Evening Update: Storms tracking across southeast Wisconsin remain sub-severe
Updated: Friday, August 16th 6:35pm:
Clusters of thunderstorms are racing east at 40-45 mph across southeast Wisconsin early this evening. Storms are disorganized and remain below severe limits. These will move over the lake completely by 7:30pm.
However, they're producing extremely heavy rain. The rain has been relentless in Sheboygan County which has led to flooding on the south side of the city. A Flood Warning is in effect for most of the county until 9pm.
Isolated spotty showers will remain possible behind this main line but will dissipate by late evening. Additional spotty showers will redevelop later Saturday afternoon and evening with no risk of severe weather.

Mid-Afternoon Update for Friday, August 16th...
A few showers and storms cropping up on the radar. Still thinking the best chance for widespread storms, some strong to severe, will be between 4 and 9 p.m. Gusty winds, large hail. frequent lightning and an isolated tornado are all possible. Sam Kuffel and I are keeping tabs of developing conditions. So keep it tuned on air and online for the latest updates.

A cluster of showers and storms rolled into counties north of I-94 Friday morning. Nothing strong but certainly some good downpours with lightning and thunder. Those storms should be over Lake Michigan by 9 AM then we dry out for the rest of the morning into the early afternoon. But another round of storms is likely for the afternoon and evening. The best timing looks like 5-10 PM.
Any storms that do roll through Friday evening could be on the stronger side. A Level 1 Marginal Risk is in place for all of southeast Wisconsin. Small hail, gusty wind, minor flooding and an isolated tornado are all possible.
Most of southeast Wisconsin saw a really good soaking rain on Thursday with lots of rain, but not many storms, and some heavy downpours. The North Shore of Milwaukee County saw frequent downpours with rain totals passing 1.50" there. The rest of southeast Wisconsin got between 0.50-1.00" of rain Thursday.
Another half inch to full inch of rain is likely Friday, although less totals could be seen in areas that don't see storms. Then more scattered showers on Saturday and Sunday could add another 0.25" or so of rain pushing totals in some areas closer to 2" of rain.
