Previewing upcoming events in Racine County
Southeast Wisconsin had the most widespread, beneficial rainfall of the year on Wednesday with 1-1.50" of rain falling across most of the area. Combine that with the rain that fell last week, and Milwaukee has basically had the same amount of rain over the last week as we did during May and June combined.
Since we had a wet start to the year, Milwaukee is only running .90" below normal for year to date rainfall. However, we're running 5.57" below normal since April 1st, so the drought continues. A couple more rain events like yesterday and we'll be in much better shape.
We do have a few more rain chances over the next few days, but nothing as widespread or as constant as Wednesday. We can't rule out a stray downpour before sunset this evening, but most of the area will stay dry until a batch of scattered showers and isolated storms move in during the early morning hours on Friday.
Another round of storms is possible Friday evening. Storms could be strong with gusty winds.
In between rounds of storms it'll be sunny, hot, and humid with temps making a run at 90°. Additional pop up showers or storms are possible Saturday and Sunday, but they look fairly isolated. Stay hydrated if you'll be out at the Harley Homecoming or Bastille Days!
