Motorcyclist dead following Jefferson County crash

PALMYRA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A man is dead after being involved in a motorcycle crash on Saturday, Aug. 24 in Palmyra, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies responded to a 911 call at around 6:42 p.m. and discovered the motorcycle and the man near County Trunk Highway H and Pine Drive.

Officials say that the motorcycle was traveling southbound when it left the highway, struck a culvert and ejected the driver.

The man was found about 50 feet from the motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the only person riding the motorcycle at the time.
