MPD: Woman arrested in fatal hit-and-run crash near Mitchell Park Domes

MILWAUKEE, WI (CBS 58) -- A 50-year-old woman is in custody following the hit-and-run death of a 55-year-old woman near the Mitchell Park Domes Friday night.   The accident happened around 6:50 PM at S. Layton Blvd and W Evergreen Lane.   According to the Milwaukee Police Department, the victim was struck while walking in the intersection and the striking vehicle then fled.   The Milwaukee Fire Department attempted to save the victim's life, but she died at the scene.  Based on witness statements, the MPD was able to locate the suspect driver and take her into custody.   While the MPD is continuing to investigate the accident, it will be presenting the charges to the District Attorney's office in the next few days.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Police say a woman has been arrested for a deadly hit-and-run near the Mitchell Park Domes.

According to police, witness statements led to the arrest of the woman.

It happened around 6:50 p.m. near Layton and Evergreen.

Milwaukee Police say the driver of the striking vehicle fled the scene.
