MPS hosts South Division Fieldhouse grand reopening ceremony

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- MPS held a grand reopening for the renovated South Division High School Fieldhouse on Saturday, Feb. 24. 

According to MPS, significant renovations were made to the fieldhouse and the school's pool. Updates included a hardwood basketball court and other new flooring, retractable bleachers, an updated sound system, and a refreshed interior.

The pool area received enhancements such as new diving board, starting blocks, updated lighting, and air quality enhancements. 

MPS says resources from the Federal Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund to safely reopen schools and address COVID-19 impact were used to fund the projects. Input from students, staff, and the community identified that updating the athletic facilities was a priority project, according to MPS.
