BROOKFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Mr. B's - A Bartolotta Steakhouse in Brookfield will be closed for New Year's Eve after a fire broke out in the restaurant this afternoon, Dec. 31.

Mr. B's released a statement, saying that the fire occurred in the chimney and that the fire department was called. The fire was quickly taken care of. The statement continued "guests with reservations are being contacted directly and rebooked."

Mindi Fasshauer and her husband had a reservation with another couple on Wednesday night.

“I guess we’ll pivot and try to find something else to do, not the exact plans we had in mind when we came out here,” said Fasshauer.

Fasshauer and her husband said they will be okay for the night and good with adjusting their schedule to break in the new year.

“The health and safety of everybody that was in the restaurant, the employees, if there were any patrons in there that is first and foremost,” Fasshauer said. “I’m glad and hopefully it’s something they can quickly come back from and bounce back and reopen.”

The Brookfield Fire Department says that no injuries were reported and that there was minor damage to the building.

This is the second chimney fire that the restaurant has experienced this year, the first being in August.

The restaurant stated that they plan on reopening as soon as possible.

The fire is under investigation.
