MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee School of Engineering students have a new computer science building on campus.
The ribbon was cut Friday, opening the Dwight and Dian Diercks Computational Science Hall.
Here, MSOE students will learn about supercomputing and artificial intelligence and their growing impact on our lives.
"MSOE is here very early, there's no other school that has a computer science program that's heavily learning into AI, but because we started so early with MSOE, it's rolling out just as all the big universities are trying to figure out how to get there," said MOSE alum and donor Dwight Diercks. "So launching today is great, because we are probably at least two to five years ahead of most universities and where they need to be."
Diercks is an MSOE grad who's now a tech company executive.
He said he's been watching the construction of the new building from California through a webcam.
