MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Nadi Plates is headed to Milwaukee's east side.

In a post shared on social media Monday, April 21, the full-service Italian caterer and food truck operator announced plans to expand into the space currently occupied by Crossroads Collective.

After a seven-year run, Crossroads Collective food hall announced its last day of operation will be May 8, after an offer was made to take over the space.

Nadi Plates confirmed their expansion into the Farwell Avenue location, writing in part, "As eastsiders, as foodies, and as big mouths who can’t keep a secret, we are beyond humbled to share that we are moving home to the East Side for our brand new catering hub and (screaming!) our first ever restaurant concept!"

On their website, the company shared plans to house their catering business as well as the prep space for their two food trucks. Nadi Plates says they plan to open their flagship restaurant this fall, after "extensive renovations."

Nadi Plates says they "will blend the company’s scratch-made Italian classics and original recipes, quirky street food staples, and whimsical company culture together to create a sophisticated but comfortable neighborhood gathering spot. Guests can expect innovative Italian small plates, expertly-crafted cocktails and wine pairings, and a commitment to offering delicious plant-based and gluten-free options. A European-style espresso bar and café element is also planned during daytime hours, with lunch catering available to neighboring businesses."

They also encouraged Milwaukeeans to continue supporting the current vendors at Crossroads Collective during the food hall's last few weeks, and throughout the upcoming Milwaukee Film Festival.
