MILWAUKEE (CSB 58) -- Local leaders are recognizing National Blood Donor Month with a public drive.
It honors the generosity of America's blood donors and those who donate blood regularly.
Across the country, only 3% of the population donates blood each year.
"By donating blood today, you are directly contributing to a healthier Milwaukee County and helping us to achieve our vision of assuring that every resident can have access to life saving supplies and live safe healthy lives," said Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley.
Learn how you can donate blood here.
