MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- There's a new resource available for men battling addiction.
Serenity Inn's new treatment center is expected to help 56 men each year on Milwaukee's north side.
Former Milwaukee Buck Marques Johnson is part of the organization.
Johnson, who struggled with addiction himself, says this foundation could help heal those just like him, and staff believe the center's seven-month program provides long-term care to men seeking recovery.
"I knew Serenity Inn because I go to meetings with all these young men on Prospect when I'm in town - every day of the week, pretty much," Johnson said. "We see each other, and I try and share my experience with hope. I pull up to the side, talk to them about what they're going through. They all speak so highly of what Serenity Inn has meant to them in the terms of the foundation for their recovery."
Serenity Inn says it has helped more than 600 men reach recovery, and that number is expected to keep growing.
The new $3 million facility will add 14 additional beds to tis residential treatment services.
