MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Wisconsin's Department of Transportation reports a record number of Amtrak riders.
The Milwaukee-Chicago Amtrak Hiawatha service had an all-time record of more than 858,000 riders in 2018, a little more than a 3.5% increase compared to 2017.
The Department says ridership has more than doubled since 2003 when the service began offering seven round trips daily.
