Officials seek help identifying individual in Green County newborn death investigation

ALBANY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Authorities in Green County are asking for the public's assistance as they continue to investigate the death of a newborn baby who went missing on Jan. 9 in the village of Albany.
The death is being investigated as a homicide, and a person of interest has been taken into custody.
Officials have released photos of a person walking in Albany on Tuesday, Jan. 5.
Anyone who saw this person walking on this date, or has any information about this person, is asked to contact the Green County Sheriff's Department at 608-328-9400.

ALBANY, Wis. (AP) — Authorities say the body of a newborn girl who was reported missing was discovered Saturday in Albany.
Details of her death have not been released.
Green County Sheriff Jeff Skatrud and Albany Police Chief Robert Ritter say the infant was born on Jan. 5 at a home in Albany and then taken from the home by the infant's father.
The father told investigators he turned the infant over to an "unidentified third party."
The person is said to be an acquaintance of the father.
The case remains under investigation.
