UWM Director of Athletics Amanda Braun honored as NCAA Division 1 Nike Executive of the Year

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Women Leaders in College Sports has named University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee's Director of Athletics Amanda Braun the NCAA Division 1 Nike Executive of the Year, an award highlighting administrative excellence in intercollegiate athletics.

The honor was announced in a Wednesday, Aug. 17 press release.

Since taking the reins in 2013, Braun has overseen a period of success within Panther athletics, including a sustained academic record with UWM student-athletes achieving a GPA of 3.0 or higher for 46 consecutive semesters, along with strong competitive performances in the Horizon League.

"I am honored to be selected for this award and believe that leadership is very much a team sport," Braun said in the release.

"We achieve great things within Panther Athletics because of the incredible people working every day to support our student-athletes, our university and our community, and I share this recognition with all of my teammates within our Athletics Department."

Braun will receive the award at the Women Leaders National Convention taking place from Oct. 8-10 in New Orleans.
