Next Act Theatre opens season with Wisconsin premiere of 'TRAYF'

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Next Act Theatre kicks off its 2026-27 season with the Wisconsin premiere of "TRAYF" by Lindsay Joelle, running through Oct. 4. Cast members A.J. Magoon and Lucas Prizant, along with director Elyse Edelman, joined us Wednesday, Sept. 23 to chat about the show.

The play follows two Orthodox Jewish teenage best friends in 1990s New York City who spend their days driving a "Mitzvah Tank" van, until one of them becomes drawn to the secular world of rock and roll, testing their friendship.

The production includes new accessibility initiatives during its run, including closed and open captioning, ASL interpretation, audio description and touch tours at select performances.
