Next best thing to the Wisconsin State Fair begins with "Fair Food Drive-Thru"

WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- It's been 169 years of cream puffs, just about anything on a stick, and so much lively livestock. The Wisconsin State Fair has been a summer staple in our lives, except a handful of times, including this year. The current pandemic put the kibosh on the annual event. But starting today, and going through the next four weekends, a "Fair Food Drive-Thru" will take place on the State Fairgrounds.

There's also limited merchandise available for purchase. All of this is part of something called "State Fair Necessities." It's a way we can all indulge in something we know and love so well without actually experiencing it in person.

The Fair Food Drive-Thru kicks off this afternoon at 4 and runs until 8 pm. You're asked to enter from Gate 9, located at S. 76th Street and W. Pierce Street.
