North Fond du Lac man killed in crash near Highway 41

FOND DU LAC, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Police are investigating a crash that killed a 79-year-old man from North Fond du Lac Tuesday, April 28. 

Officers responded to the scene near W. Scott Street and northbound US Highway 41 around 9:23 a.m. 

Officials say an investigation indicates the vehicle was traveling westbound on W. Scott Street, went through the four-way stop at N. Pioneer Road and then left the roadway to the north, traveled down a hill toward Highway 41, and became airborne over the northbound lanes before landing in the median. 

The driver was taken to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead. 

Police say it is believed he may have experienced a medical emergency prior to the crash. 

A second vehicle sustained minor damage, according to the police department, but no occupants were injured. 

The crash remains under investigation.
