OAK CREEK. Wis. (CBS 58) -- Kindness is not an academic subject like reading or math but it's still an important skill to instill in children.
Some kids at The Learning Experience day care in Oak Creek got a lesson in kindness on Thursday, Nov. 13, using cereal boxes lined up as dominos to help.
The trail of boxes lined the hall and after the exciting domino run, the preschoolers were instructed to help pick up the boxes which were then donated to help other local children and families in need.
"We explain to them, especially our preschoolers we can explain to them what we're doing, why we're doing it and they do understand," said Laura Bitzer, center leader at The Learning Experience. "Kids have a greater knowledge, have a greater capacity to understand than we give them credit for,"
The timing of the lesson was no coincidence as The Learning Experience arranged it to happen on World Kindness Day.
