MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Former President Barack Obama endorsed Democratic nominee David Crowley for Wisconsin governor in a video released Thursday, Oct. 8, less than four weeks before the Nov. 3 election.

"As the leader of Wisconsin's largest county, he created jobs and balanced the budget," Obama said in the video, referring to Crowley's role as Milwaukee County executive. "There is nobody better to lead Wisconsin forward. So, vote David Crowley for governor."

Crowley shared the video on social media where he wrote, "I am deeply honored to have your support in this race to be Wisconsin's next Governor."

Crowley faces Republican U.S. Rep. Tom Tiffany in the general gubernatorial election.
