Lapham Peak to host winter recreation event

WAUKESHA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- With fresh snow coming this weekend, Saturday might be the perfect time to check out "OutWiGo Snow!" at Lapham Peak in the Kettle Moraine State Forest. 

Many of Wisconsin's favorite winter sports will be highlighted at the recreational event, including skiing, snowshoeing and sledding.

"A lot of people are looking for fun ways to get outside in the winter...exercise outside during the winter, like the summer," said DNR spokesperson Anne Korman. "Lapham Peak offers a variety of activities -- hiking, snowshoeing, fat tire biking or cross country skiing."

They'll be doing ice safety demonstrations as well as part of the overall event, running from noon until 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11.
