GREEN BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The chances of a true Lambeau Field snow game increase, as the snow falls now early in the week. And while the tarp may currently be covering the playing surface for Monday night? On Thursday afternoon, Dec. 19, the football team is outside on the practice field.
Things started inside for the day. The Packers were only without Javon Bullard and Quay Walker on defense, both dealing with ankle injuries. But Jaire Alexander did practice after not touching the field on Friday. Things then continued outside as the Packers embraced the elements to get a taste of what they could see come Sunday.
"Why not get game like conditions in practice and kinda get a feel for how you have to move in practice," Packers Head Coach Matt LaFleur says. "And kinda get a feel for how you have to move on that grass because I think there was more snow than I anticipated."
Meanwhile, if you think this is an advantage for all the Green Bay players? Think again. It's new to a few.
"I had fun at practice today," Packers Running Back Josh Jacobs says. "It was actually my first time playing or practicing on snow literally in my life. So, it was fun."
With a win? The Packers lock up a playoff spot. They are currently 13.5 point favorites Monday night when the New Orleans Saints come marching into Lambeau Field.
