MILWAUKEE -- Make room for extra calories this Fat Tuesday because it's Paczki Day.
The holiday is originally a Polish tradition, meant to clear out the cupboards of all fatty indulgences ahead of Lent.
National Bakery & Deli is making 36,000 pastries for hungry customers who will pour in all day for varieties of the sweet treats--including caramel iced apple filled, pink iced cherry filled, and chocolate iced buttercreme filled Paczkis.
Doors opened at all three National Bakery locations in Milwaukee, Brookfield and Greendale at 6 a.m.
