Pedestrian killed by hit-and-run driver near 13th and McKinley
CBS 58 MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police are searching for a driver after a deadly hit-and-run crash Thursday morning, April 23.
Officers responded to the scene near 13th and McKinley around 9:10 a.m.
Police say a driver struck the victim and fled; the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
People who live in the area say they believe the man who was killed lived in a tent nearby. They say they saw officers going door to door looking for video of the vehicle involved.
We spoke with a man who lives across the street from the scene of the crash, who said he heard it happen.
"Just heard a boom. I just thought - because there's a lot of bumps out there - I thought it was one of them," he said. "Nobody screamed. I look out the car, and I see the man laying on the ground."
