Red Cross providing shelter to those displaced by fire on Milwaukee's west side

CBS 58

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- People were displaced after a fire on the city of Milwaukee's west side Sunday, Dec. 14, that happened after 4 p.m. near 105th and Lancaster.

One person was reported to be sent to the hospital for smoke inhalation.

No one else was hurt.

The Milwaukee Fire Department says that the intense cold did make fighting the fire more difficult, as their masks froze up and ice on the ground made walking hazardous.

The Red Cross is helping the people who were displaced and the fire is under investigation.
