Pilot, passenger killed in Illinois plane crash after departing from Wisconsin

DEERFIELD, Ill. (CBS 58) -- A tragic airplane crash that left from a Wisconsin airport crashed in a northern Illinois suburb Wednesday night, March 4. 

Officials say the plane left out of Madison before the plane hit the roof of a house in Deerfield, Illinois and damaged two gas meters. 

The pilot and passenger died. But people that live in the area are calling the pilot a hero, saying it could have been much worse. 

Investigators say there was no distress call before the plane went down, leaving questions as to what caused the crash.
