Polar Plunge to raise funds for Special Olympics Wisconsin at Muskego Park in March
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Special Olympics Wisconsin's annual Polar Plunge will take place Saturday, March 1 at Muskego Park. The event challenges participants to jump into icy water to raise funds that go directly towards supporting athletes with intellectual disabilities.
An opening ceremony will begin at noon, followed by the plunge. This year’s event offers two ways to participate: being a Polar Plunger is the option for taking a traditional in-person jump, but there's also the option to be a Polar Pledger for those who would like to contribute without getting wet.
Live music, food and activities will be available throughout the day.
Milwaukee’s Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Wisconsin is one of eight held across the state, with others held in Wisconsin Rapids, Oshkosh, Madison, Green Bay, La Crosse, Chippewa Falls and Whitewater.
Registration is available by clicking here, though on-site signups are also accepted. Participants must raise at least $100 to receive an official event shirt, with additional incentives for higher fundraising totals.
