WAUWATOSA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Police arrested three people early Friday morning, March 29, after a burglary at Macy's, in Mayfair Mall, prompted a pursuit that ended in a crash.
Authorities say Wauwatosa officers located a vehicle parked near a shattered glass door at Macy's around 4:19 a.m.
The car, carrying three individuals, sped away from the scene, prompting a pursuit. As the vehicle headed north into Washington County, Village of Germantown officers took over the chase.
Police say the pursuit ended when the fleeing vehicle crashed at the intersection of US Highway 41 and Highway 60.
Two passengers, ages 46 and 48, both from Illinois, were apprehended at the scene of the crash. The driver, a 21-year-old also from Illinois, attempted to escape but was captured nearby.
Officials say the crashed Kia was stolen, with stolen jewelry from Macy's found inside.
The passengers were uninjured, and the driver was taken to an area hospital for assessment.
An investigation is ongoing.
