Prepping for dynamic San Francisco 49ers

GREEN BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Green Bay Packers held the first of what is expected to be two lighter days of practice on Wednesday, January 17th.

The Packers and 49ers have grown familiarity over the years. Not only does Packers Head Coach Matt LaFleur's former boss, Kyle Shanahan coach San Francisco, but it is also the third time they have faced each other since the 2020 NFC Championship Game.

"You better buckle your chinstrap because they're a very physical football team and if you don't match that physicality, They'll run you right off the field," said LaFleur.

"It's a great challenge for us. Really good defense, really good offense as well. They're a great team all around," said Jordan Love, Packers quarterback.

San Francisco has seven All-Pros including five players on the first team featuring players from both sides the ball.

"I think it's gonna be clash of the titans," said Keisean Nixon, Packers All-Pro kick returner.

"They're big they're fast they're strong, They're smart. They're super comfortable they've been running that scheme for a long time," said Josh Myers, Packers center. "Just a very good, very stout defense."

As the underdogs, the Packers have another chance to ride a four-gang win streak, and once again play spoiler.

"You know, its huge for us now just having that momentum and continuing to keep it rolling, " said Love.

"It's amazing having that perspective of where we were at halfway through the season and where we are at now. Feel like we can go out there and beat anybody," said Jon Runyon, Packers guard.
