Racine County man arrested on child pornography charges
RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Racine County Sheriff's Office reports that they have apprehended 32-year-old Sunny S. Mazurek on charges of possessing child pornography.
According to a report replaced by RCSO, the arrest followed an investigation by the Sheriff’s Internet Crimes Against Children division of the Criminal Investigations Bureau.
Authorities conducted a search warrant at Mazurek's residence in the 1500 block of Lincoln St. in Racine.
Officials say that an investigation revealed a significant collection of "child sexual abuse material" on electronic devices in Mazurek's home when a search warrant was conducted on Tuesday, Nov. 28. The discovery was made after Racine County Sheriff’s Investigators, in collaboration with Special Agents from the Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigations, served the warrant.
Mazurek has reportedly denied any wrongdoing related to the uploading or downloading of child pornography and is currently detained in the Racine County Jail with bail set at $505,100.
The charges against him include ten counts of Possession of Child Pornography, Possession of THC-Repeat Drug Offender and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
