RACINE, Wis (CBS 58) -- Staff at the Racine Public Library are getting ready for a huge celebration!
Julia Heiser, Marketing assistant with the library joined CBS 58 in studio to discuss all the upcoming events!
On Saturday, July 16 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. the library is celebrating their history with the special 125th Anniversary Block Party!
There will be live music, bounce houses, beer tent, food trucks, and carnival games.
Heiser also discussed a new program regarding a native plant garden at the library. They hope to help pollinators with the additional plants there. It's part of the Root-Pike River Watershed Initiative, Pollinator Patch.
There are also now new lunch options outside the library. They hope people in the community can get a better sense of the community and supporting local businesses. They're calling this effort "Lunch Break at the Library".
There are also two new book bikes that the library will be using to spread a sense of joy regarding reading to all in Racine.
