RACINE, WI (CBS 58) -- The 10th annual Chainsaw Carving & Art Festival is coming up! It's a celebration of trees and nature. The event takes place at River Bend Nature Center on Sunday, October 2nd, 2022 from 9am – 2pm with live auction at 3pm.
On center stage are the chainsaw carvers, who release works of art from pine logs as you watch. All carvings will go to a lively public auction at 3:00pm. If you’ve never bid at a live auction before, this is your chance to join the fun, and possibly take home a unique piece of art.
Plan to spend some time at River Bend…there’s plenty more to do and see:
-Art fair featuring a wide variety of artists displaying and selling their work
-Kids’ Climb tree top adventure …the Wisconsin Arborist Association will belay kids up into the treetops using pulley systems, where they will assist them in learning climbing safety, limb walking, and hanging upside down.
-Nature Trivia trail through the forest with questions and facts for adults and children
-Food, beer and soft drinks -Crafts and activities for adults and children -Hand carving & wood demonstrations
-Chainsaw raffle and silent auction
-Canoe and kayak rentals Admission to the event is free Funds raised by the event are used to support River Bend Nature Center’s mission to provide environmental education and outdoor recreation for children, families and adults.
